The Auckland Live International Cabaret Season roars into its third annual season with an exuberant line-up of international and local artists, offering audiences a chance to experience the very best in the global genre that is cabaret. Three central city venues are set to come alive with a dazzling programme of artists from Wednesday 28 September – Sunday 2 October.
This year, we welcome to Auckland Town Hall’s Concert Chamber a suite of critically-acclaimed cabaret shows from across the globe.
Audiences can experience works that push boundaries offering pure entertainment and escapism. There will be unmissable nights of cabaret with the musical Songs for the Fallen, the award-winning cabaret star, Tim Draxl, performing in Freeway: The Chet Baker Journey, a tribute to Nina Simone by Sheba Williams, UK’s punk-cabaret duo Frisky & Mannish and Aotearoa’s own mystical and memorable Blackbird Ensemble.
For the first time, Auckland Live International Cabaret Season is proud to share the spotlight with Auckland’s Basement Theatre and Grey Lynn’s favourite piano bar, Freida Margolis.
