FAM RETURNS WITH MARKETS, MUSIC & THE REOPENING OF BERESFORD SQUARE

Karangahape Road is coming alive on Saturday 4 October, 10am–2pm with FAM: Food. Art. Market. a brand-new monthly celebration of markets, live music, art and whānau fun. From now on, FAM will take place on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 2pm (except January), bringing the street to life with local markets, live music, art exhibitions and family-friendly activations.

Live music will fill the Beresford Square stage with a line-up to be announced soon, while markets pop up across the area, including Beresford Square, the Nostalgia Market at Small Rave (74 K Road), and Celestial Markets around Pitt Street. Adding to the buzz, heaps of shops will spill outside with special offers and pop-ups, joined by local favourites Bad News and Search & Destroy.

Adding to the buzz, Goodspace launches their new music video PEDAL with an interactive installation at Lim Chhour, while Artspace Aotearoa leads an Art Tour through some of K’ Road’s leading galleries.

For tamariki and whānau, SMALL RAVE kid activations will be hosted around the square with DIY tote-bag decorating and hands-on activities, making it the perfect Saturday outing for all ages.

FAM is about everything that makes K’ Road what it is, creative, bold and independent. Reopening Beresford Square is about giving this iconic space back to the community, with markets, music, art and whānau at the centre of it all” says Ella Mizrahi, Creative Producer at the Karangahape Road Business Association.
